Hello, I’m

Van AJ Vanguardia

Product-driven full-stack developer.

For more than three years, I have built and maintained web and mobile applications, prioritizing user experience from requirements through delivery. My work centers on React and C# / ASP.NET Core, alongside personal products in the TypeScript ecosystem with Next.js, React Native, and Expo.

I am based in Cebu, Philippines. I use AI-assisted workflows to turn product needs into customer-facing features, staying hands-on with coding agents from planning through delivery. I guide the decisions, review the code, and verify the results.

01My work

Products I designed and built.

Relay, Roleway, Viya, and ACSFI cover social sports, job-search operations, mobile travel, and nonprofit publishing. Together they show how I handle product scope, interface design, domain modeling, backend architecture, content systems, testing, and release. Each case study links to the public source where it is available.

02Tech stack

TypeScript for the product. Backend systems around it.

I use TypeScript across web, mobile, and Node.js services. ASP.NET Core, relational databases, cloud platforms, testing tools, and deployment automation support the rest of the system when the work requires them.

Product development

Clarify the requirement, map the user flow, build the interface and supporting system, then revise it against real behavior.

Requirements · UX · implementation · iteration

Full-stack implementation

Connect typed interfaces to authenticated APIs, domain rules, databases, background work, and external services.

Web · mobile · backend · data

AI integration

Validate model output, isolate providers, provide deterministic fallbacks, and require user review before generated changes affect stored data.

LLM integration · agents · validation

Testing and release

Use automated tests, accessibility checks, performance review, documentation, and repeatable deployment steps before release.

Test · review · automate · ship

How I build with agents

Question the idea first. Capture the decisions, slice the work into small end-to-end tasks, and use tests and review to challenge the implementation—not just produce more code.

Work across frontend, backend, data, and delivery.

My work spans product maintenance, new features, AI capabilities, accessibility, integrations, and cloud delivery. I connect React frontends with C# / ASP.NET Core services and SQL Server, with AWS and Microsoft Azure across current and earlier engagements.

    Full Scale Teams PH

    Current

Deliver full-stack product development through Full Scale’s offshore development teams. Currently maintain and extend Lytho, a creative operations platform for marketing workflows and digital assets, using React, C# / ASP.NET Core microservices, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS. Earlier work includes Ticket Booth, a corporate event-ticket management platform, using Salesforce, ASP.NET Core, and Angular, plus internal billing tooling using ASP.NET Core, Blazor, and Microsoft Azure.

    • Maintain and evolve Lytho. Deliver customer-facing features across React interfaces and ASP.NET Core services, including AI insights, data customization, and approval workflows. Features reached customers and received positive feedback; QA and customers verified successful exports after fixes to slow or failing export workflows.
    • Add AI features and improve accessibility. Implement AI insights and custom AI skill workflows. Contributed accessibility fixes to a product that passed a third-party WCAG 2.2 AA audit.
    • Move Windows services to Linux containers. Contributed to backend modernization through EC2-to-ECS migration and ECR container images. Adapted Windows services to run in Linux Docker containers on ECS Fargate and built new AWS Lambda file processors to handle work without legacy Windows dependencies.
    • Deliver internal billing capabilities. Expanded an internally used ASP.NET Core and Blazor billing system with workflows, exports, and QuickBooks employee-data integration. Improved fetch response times by replacing slow external API calls with direct database access, implementing connection and factory setup and optimized queries. Configured CI/CD and development workflows using GitHub Actions and Zoho for Microsoft Azure deployment.
    • Build event-booking and payment features. Delivered a Salesforce event-booking dashboard for Ticket Booth, a platform that centralizes corporate ticket inventory, requests, allocations, and reporting. Developed ASP.NET Core backend and Angular frontend features and integrated Stripe payments.
    • Work in a continuous delivery cycle. Contribute within sprint-based Agile teams using trunk-based development, connecting feature work, bug fixes, review, and release to product needs.
    • Integrate AI-assisted engineering workflows. Use Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and GitHub Copilot for development tasks, with direct code review and verification of generated changes.

    Full-Stack Developer

    NextDevs Software Development Services

Founded NextDevs and led the team building three applications: an administrative Crew Management System (CMS), a crew portal for personal information and documents, and a Crew Application app for online applications. Delivered all three as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), combining hands-on full-stack development with direct client collaboration, team coordination, and support.

    • Led product development with clients. Worked directly with clients to clarify crew-management requirements and prioritize features, then coordinated implementation across frontend and QA contributors.
    • Built the APIs behind crew-management workflows. Developed endpoints with NestJS and Fastify, structured service and database boundaries, and used Prisma for typed data access connecting the application’s interfaces to backend operations.
    • Developed and refined the frontend. Built Next.js interfaces for three applications: an administrative CMS for crew-management, crew-change, and reporting; a crew portal for personal information and documents; and a Crew Application app for online submissions. All three are PWAs; the CMS and crew portal are adopted across the client company. Integrated backend APIs and resolved interface and performance issues.
    • Made the application stack testable together. Configured Docker and NGINX environments for integration testing and release review. Used Swagger and Postman to document and validate API behavior with the team.
    • Supported clients beyond feature development. Provided direct application support, investigated client-reported issues, and coordinated fixes with the development team.

05About

I care about what happens after the first release.

I start with the user’s task and choose the simplest architecture that can support it. I care about clear interfaces, accessible behavior, performance, documentation, and code that remains easy to test and change. AI tools help me move faster, but I still review the decisions and verify the behavior.
